The Hat Man

Old Nick – “The Hat Man” is a horror-driven music video concept inspired by sleep paralysis and the fear of nightmares becoming real.

The project follows the presence of the Hat Man: a tall shadowy figure in a black coat and wide-brim hat, watching from the darkness with glowing red eyes. The visual world should feel nocturnal, claustrophobic, and paranoid, blurring the boundary between sleep and waking reality.

The atmosphere is rooted in deep shadows, eerie bedrooms, distorted dream spaces, threatening silhouettes, and sharp red accents. The goal is to create a dark, unsettling visual experience that makes the viewer feel trapped inside the nightmare alongside the song’s narrator.
